Federation of Centers for Migration Studies

The Federation of Centers for Migration Studies "Scalabrini" unites seven centers across the world, each devoted to deepening the understanding of migration, and synchronizes their goals and efforts. Located in the major cities of New York, Paris, Rome, Basel, São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Manila, the centers monitor the development of international migration. All centers are organized with similar departments, including a program dedicated to research, another dedicated to specialized publications - including periodicals, monographs and academic papers – as well as programss dedicated to documentation, conferences and other educational activities.

The Center for Migration Studies of New York (CMS) is an educational institute/think tank devoted to the study of international migration, to the promotion of understanding between immigrants and receiving communities, and to public policies that safeguard the dignity and rights of migrants, refugees and newcomers.

FCMS draws inspiration from the Blessed John Baptist Scalabrini, who awoke public interest on the vicissitudes of migrants, promoted better legislation on their behalf and left a group of followers to continue his vision through social centers, educational institutes, homes for the aged, formation programs, social protection and spiritual assistance.
