La Paz, November 30, 2018 – On November 29, 2018, the III Meeting of Consulates, Government Institutions, PMH La Paz and Casa del Migrante was held in the facilities of the General Consulate of Peru. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen inter-institutional coordination mechanisms in response to the needs and challenges presented by people in situations of human mobility. 

The participants of this event included 9 consulates, the IOM, Migration, Chancellery, Ombudsman, Defensor del Pueblo, the Municipality, PMH and Casa del Migrante, who in each meeting are committed to continue working together in a coordinated manner in favor of the migrant population. It is important to highlight that for each meeting more institutions and consulates are added to this work.

One of the proposals that was presented for the 2019 administration was to rescue the main needs and challenges that the migrant brothers will present according to the current migration reality of the region, which will demand actions of joint incidence before competent authorities of the host country.

The event concluded with gratitude words from Bishop Jorge Saldías, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of La Paz and the Minister Counselor of the Consulate of Peru; agreeing on to the date for the next meeting in March 2019 in the facilities of the new host Consulate of Spain.
