The Scalabrini International Migration Network, founded by the Missionaries of St. Charles, Scalabrini, operates 270 programs for migrants worldwide, including a job creation center, a clinic, three schools and a youth center in Haiti.  We are disturbed by the November 20 announcement by the U.S. government terminating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti, a decision which will leave over 50,000 Haitians residing in the United States vulnerable to deportation.

Participación del SIMN en la XXXII Conferencia Internacional: Abordando las disparidades mundiales de salud

El principal objetivo de la XXXIII Conferencia Internacional es informar, conocer y actuar sobre la desigualdad de la asistencia sanitaria en todo el mundo.

Ciudad del Vaticano, 17 de noviembre de 2017 - La Red Internacional de Migración  Scalabrini (SIMN), representada por el Director Ejecutivo, P. Leonir Chiarello y el Director de Desarrollo y Recaudación de Fondos, Patrick Gage, participan en la XXXII Conferencia Internacional organizada por la Confederación Internacional de Instituciones Católicas de Atención de la Salud (CIISAC) y el Dicasterio para la Promoción del Desarrollo Humano Integral. Con el título "Abordando las disparidades mundiales de salud", el evento se llevará a cabo del 16 al 18 de noviembre de 2017. La conferencia se centra en las brechas de atención médica en todo el mundo, incluidas las que enfrentan migrantes y refugiados. Al evento asisten varios actores importantes, incluidos Ascension, Gates Foundation, Caritas y diferentes proveedores de servicios de salud de los cinco continentes.

Participation of SIMN at the XXXII International Conference: Addressing Global Health Disparities

The main objective of XXXIII International Conference is to inform, to know, and to act on the inequality of health care across the world.

Vatican City, November 17, 2017 - The Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN), represented by the Executive Director, Fr. Leonir Chiarello, and the Director of Development and Fundraising, Patrick Gage, are taking part in the XXXII International Conference organized by the International Confederation of Catholic Health-Care Institutions (CIISAC) and the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. With the title "Addressing Global Health Disparities," the event is taking place from November 16 to 18, 2017. The Conference is focus on health care gaps across the globe, including those faced by migrants and refugees. A number of important stakeholders are attending, including Ascension, the Gates Foundation, Caritas and different health care providers from five continents.
