“The outcome document that will be considered by member states in the High Level Summit falls short of creating a new framework for the protection of refugees and migrants around the world.” That is the thought expressed, already at the beginning of August, by the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) together with the Center for Migration Studies of New York (CMS). Their goal is that the “High Level Summit on Large Movements of Refugees and Migrants”, planned by the United Nations in New York on September 19, and related meetings called by the United States on the same sideline, on September 20, can give concrete answers to the delicate subject.

Il documento finale approvato che sarà preso in esame dagli stati membri nel prossimo Incontro di Alto Livello è carente nella creazione di un nuovo quadro per la protezione dei rifugiati e dei migranti in tutto il mondo”. Così si è espresso, già ad inizio di agosto, lo Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) insieme al Centro di Studi Migratori di New York (CMS). L’obiettivo delle due entità scalabriniane è che il “VII High-level Meeting on large movements of refugees & migrants” previsto a New York sul tema dalle Nazioni Unite il 19 settembre, e gli incontri successivi voluti dagli Stati Uniti a margine dello stesso, il giorno 20, arrivino a dare risposte concrete al delicato tema.

On Tuesday August 23rd, 2016 the first guests arrived in the new C.A.R.A. SCALABRINI, site Siponto (FG), promoted by the Scalabrini Missionaries and the Scalabrinian Agency for Development Cooperation (ASCS), in continuity with the structure already opened in Rome for the third reception. The building, in dialogue with the Prefecture, can accommodate 33 asylum seekers in a structure adjacent to the current religious house and it was once the seminar for middle school students.
