On August 22, 2017, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, on his first official visit to the North of Central America, met with UNHCR’s partner institutions in Guatemala for an overview of trends of displacement in the region. The meeting took place at the Casa del Migrante of Guatemala City, where Mr. Grandi heard about the mission of each partner institution and called for the humanitarian and protective mission of migrants seeking
