Tijuana, December 11, 2023. – The Casa del Migrante in Tijuana held its 30th Annual Posada Sin Fronteras. This annual event commemorates Joseph and Mary’s search for refuge on Christmas Eve, symbolizing the reality of many people who arrive at the US-Mexico border in search of a safe place.
During the event, carols were sung, Father Pat offered a message, and those who lost their lives crossing the border into the United States in the last year were remembered and honored, and the traditional Christmas inn was held.
This year’s theme was «Free to choose whether to migrate or stay», reflecting Pope Francis’ message that migration should not be a forced choice and that each individual should have the freedom to decide to leave their homeland.

Tijuana, 11 de diciembre de 2023. – La Casa del Migrante en Tijuana llevó a cabo su trigésima Posada Anual Sin Fronteras. Este evento anual conmemora la búsqueda de José y María por refugio en Nochebuena, simbolizando la realidad de muchas personas que llegan a la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México en busca de un lugar seguro.
Durante el evento, se entonaron villancicos, el Padre Pat ofreció un mensaje, se recordó y honró a aquellos que perdieron la vida cruzando la frontera hacia los Estados Unidos en el último año, y se llevó a cabo la tradicional posada.
El tema de este año fue «Libres de elegir si migrar o quedarse», reflejando el mensaje del Papa Francisco de que la migración no debería ser una elección forzada, y que cada individuo debería tener la libertad de decidir abandonar su tierra natal.
