Stella Maris Cape Town Carries Out Ship Visits on a Daily Basis to Ensure the Well-Being of Seafarers and Fishers

Stella Maris Cape Town is dedicated to meeting the practical, welfare, and pastoral needs of seafarers. They carry out ship visits on a daily basis, ensuring the well-being of these individuals.

During ship visits, the Scalabrinian chaplains and volunteers provide seafarers with various reading materials, including Stella Maris magazines, local newspapers, as well as religious items such as rosary beads and scapulars. To further enhance their connectivity and enable communication with their families, pocket Wi-Fi, sim cards, and airtime are also offered on board.

Faith holds a profound significance for many seafarers, particularly those hailing from the Philippines. During a recent visit, Fr. Rico conducted a Mass for 42 Filipino and Greek seafarers on two bulk carriers, acknowledging and supporting the spiritual needs of these individuals.
