On June 1, we commemorate with profound gratitude and joy the Day of Saint John Baptist Scalabrini, father of migrants and founder of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Saint Charles Borromeo (Scalabrinians).
Saint Scalabrini dedicated his life to serving the most vulnerable, especially migrants, whom he considered not only a social reality but a living presence of Christ. His prophetic mission was to bring comfort, justice, and accompaniment to those forced to leave their homeland in search of a better life.
Since his canonization, we celebrate his legacy even more fervently and renew our commitment to continue his work: defending the dignity of migrants, promoting their rights, and building more inclusive and fraternal communities.
Today, as a Scalabrinian family, we remember his words, his actions, and his example. May Saint Scalabrini continue to inspire us to walk with migrants, listen to them, and be a prophetic voice in a world of change.
Saint Scalabrini, pray for us!
