Participants took part in the IMRF Civil Society Preparatory Day (CSPD). The CSPD&#8217;s objective was to share and consolidate the key civil society joint inputs and points of engagement for the IMRF.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Civil society representatives talked about the deteriorating situation for migrants around the world, suggesting the Global Compact for Migration has been a failure. Violence at Europe&#8217;s borders and deaths at sea continue to happen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In 2018, <a href=\"https:\/\/simn-global.org\/sg\/services\/federation-of-centers-for-migration-studies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Scalabrini Migration Study Centers<\/a> members of SIMN released the <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"mailto:https:\/\/simn-global.org\/press_releases\/scalabrini-migration-study-centers-release-second-international-policy-report-on-the-global-compact-for-safe-orderly-and-regular-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Second International Policy Report on the Global Compact for Safe, Oderly, and Regular Migration.<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0This report was supposed to set forth important policy ideas to guide the Compact&#8217;s implementation and highlighted the work of faith-based organizations in promoting its success.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New York, May 16, 2022\u00a0\u2013 Organized by the Civil Society Action Committee, hosted by SIMN, and supported by ICMC and ICNL, the Civil Society Preparation for the Internacional Migration Review was held at SIMN\u2019s headquarters in New York on May 15, 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2753,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2752","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
