International Forum on Migration and Peace

One of the specific activities of the advocacy work of SIMN is the International Forum on Migration and Peace, a global conference involving the participation of Nobel Peace Laureates, representatives from the United Nations, international organizations and governments, church organizations, NGOs and migrants’ associations. The Forum, held since 2009, aims to stimulate a high-level dialogue and the definition of concrete actions on the multifaceted bonds between migration flows and peaceful coexistence between host communities and migrants. Each Forum has a thematic focus with the intent of stimulating an on-going process of dialogue and essential action. Past Forums include the 2009 Forum in Antigua, Guatemala; the 2010 Forum in Bogota, Colombia; the 2011 Forum in Mexico City, Mexico; the 2013 Forum in New York City, USA; and most recently, the 2014 Forum in Berlin, Germany.
