Father Mauro Verzeletti is the Director of the Center for Migrants in San Salvador, El Salvador, and the Regional Director for Central America and SIMN Mexico.
Fr. Mauro worked with migrant communities in the United States and Mexico through the Commission for the Pastoral Care of Human Mobility of the Episcopal Conference of Guatemala; he also worked with migrants through the Casa del Migrante in Guatemala (2002-2011). Currently, he directs the Center for Migrants in San Salvador.
Fr. Mauro earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at the Pontifical University of Parana in Curitiba, Brazil; and his bachelor’s degree in Theology at the Theological Institute of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He also has a background in the fields of social and human rights.
