Venezuelan Children’s Day – Health and Integration Campaign

Lima, July 15, 2019 – On Sunday, July 14, the health and integration campaign was held celebrating Venezuelan Children’s Day. The NGO Venezuelan Force in Action, Peruvian Red Cross, RET in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Methodist Church of Peru organized the event at the Welcoming Center Blessed Juan Bautista Scalabrini of Lima, directed by the Scalabrinian Association in Peru.

The office of the Pastoral of Human Mobility (PMH), was invited by the NGO Fuerza Venezolana en Acción and the Scalabrini Welcoming Center, to participate in this celebratory and informative event, through the presence of the Venezuelan Migrant Information and Orientation Center (CIOMVEN), and with the support of the Bridges of Solidarity Project of the Migrants and Refugees Section of the Vatican.

During the day, the PMH team composed of Jean Carlos Guerrero and Christhian Irausquin and Ilaria Montagna, were present giving valuable information on access to the refuge in the country, as well as other consultations on migration. Similarly, various toys and gifts were distributed to Venezuelan children for their day.

During the event, various State institutions, such as the Superintendence of Migration and the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, the Peruvian Red Cross, RET, migrant associations, among others, were present providing attention to the Venezuelan population. In addition, there were magic shows and puppets for the little ones.
