Kaohsiung, Taiwan – On February 20th, Stella Maris Center in Kaohsiung welcomed delegations from OWWA and from the Philippines Migrant Workers Offices in Taiwan. Stella Maris Kaohsiung has been collaborating closely with the Philippines government in handling the cases of Filipino Migrants sheltered in the Scalabrinian Stella Maris Center in Kaohsiung.
The delegation from the Philippines is headed by Mr. Arnaldo “Arnell” A. Ignacio (Administrator Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) DEPARTMENT OF MIGRANT WORKERS), accompanied by Capt. Emmanuel L. Regio (Member, OWWA Board of Trustees), Capt. Felixberto I. Rebustes (Member, OWWA Board of Trustees), Atty Antonio B. Partoza (Member, OWWA Board of Trustees), Jocelyn O. Hapal (Director, Policy, and Programs Devt. Office OWWA), Zedy Angela L. Garcia (Supervising Administrative Officer OWWA Board Secretariat).
The delegation from the Philippines Migrant Workers Offices in Taiwan is David Des T. Dicang (Director, Migrant Workers Office – Kaohsiung, DEPARTMENT OF MIGRANT WORKERS), Eduardo Y. Mendoza, JR. (Deputy Director and Welfare Officer
Migrant Workers Office – Kaohsiung), Ruth Roselyn C. Vibar (Deputy Director and Welfare Officer, Migrant Workers Office – Taipei), Rosario C. Burayag (Deputy Director and Welfare Officer, Migrant Workers Office – Taichung).
During their visit, they talked with Filipino Migrants sheltered at the Stella Maris Center. The residents were happy to meet them. They shared the issues they face at the moment, and the Philippines government delegation assured them they were there to assist them.
