Casa Scalabrini 634 And Susan G. Komen Italy Working Together for the Health of Women

Casa Scalabrini 634, a program of the Scalabrinian Agency for Development Cooperation (ASCS) for its acronym in Italian in Via Casilina 634 in Rome, is the center of operations of the CAI program “Communities of Welcome and Integration” of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Saint Charles – Scalabrinians, who for more than 100 years have been at the service of migrants and refugees and are present in 32 countries around the world.

Among the main activities they work on, we can mention:

Welcome families and refugees

Promote training activities and programs aimed at asylum seekers, refugees, migrants and the local community

Raising awareness about Human Mobility in schools, parishes, and other Associations; In this sense, since September 2015, have sensitized more than 5,000 people.

On this occasion, thanks to the collaboration with Susan G. Komen Italia, Casa Scalabrini 634 has launched a project on women’s health to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer and the general health conditions of women. As part of the project, Casa Scalabrini 634 has repeatedly invited the mobile unit of Susan G. Komen Italia and the Policlinico Gemelli to offer free mammograms and ultrasounds to women. The project also included educational sessions in schools and sports sessions. With the help of this project, they have managed to reach refugees, migrants, and Italian women. In this, as in other projects and activities of Casa Scalabrini 634 all the beneficiaries have been involved.
