CIBAI Migrações Promotes Christmas for Migrant Children 2024 in Porto Alegre

Porto Alegre, December 2, 2024. On Sunday, December 1, the Brazilian Center for Assistance and Instruction for Migration (CIBAI Migrações) held the Christmas for Migrant Children 2024 event in Porto Alegre (RS). This initiative sought to benefit hundreds of migrant children through the delivery of gifts, recreational activities and moments of celebration, promoting an atmosphere of joy and welcome for those facing the challenge of adapting to a new country.

With the purpose of sharing the Christmas spirit and transmitting a message of hope, the event was also aimed at families in situations of social vulnerability. To ensure efficient organization and meet the specific needs of each participant, CIBAI established prior registration as a requirement.

This action plays a key role in the adaptation process of migrant children, who often face feelings of nostalgia and uncertainty, in addition to the difficulties of building relationships in an unfamiliar environment. Christmas for Migrant Children 2024 provided moments of happiness and belonging, helping to strengthen their self-esteem and social integration. By creating a space of solidarity and warmth, the event helped mitigate the emotional barriers that can arise as a result of the migration experience.

Since its founding in 1958, CIBAI Migrações has been dedicated to supporting migrants and refugees through essential services, psychological support, and programs focused on social integration and access to basic rights. With multiple initiatives, the organization works to dignify the experience of migrants and foster their inclusion, while strengthening ties with the local community.
