This meeting, convened by Mayor Don Gerardo Espinosa, was not only to share his concern about what is happening on the border between Arica and Tacna but also to talk about the actions carried out, such as attention to the most vulnerable migrant population located at the concord point. This population includes women, children, and the elderly, who are deprived of basic goods for their stay in that space. The delivery of hygiene items, water, health service, snacks, and cleaning products were the initiatives carried out by the municipality, in addition to requesting the articulation and work in coordination with the organizations that Fundación Scalabrini has been working on.
Fundación Scalabrini continues with its commitment to deliver humanitarian aid, as well as sharing information for the characterization of the population that settles at the said border point.
