Migrants Who are Minors, Vulnerable and Without Voice

On June 11, 2017, the celebration of Migrant Week and its family was held. This activity was developed in the Basilica Cathedral of Lima, and it was organized by the Pastoral of Human Mobility of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference which is under the responsibility of the Scalabrinian priests.

The solemn ceremony was presided over by Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne, Metropolitan Archbishop of Lima and Primate of Peru, and Monsignor Drago Balabanovic, curator of the Croatian Community in Peru, as well as Scalabrinian priests, Fr. Marcos Bubniak, CS President of the Association of Missionaries of San Carlos Scalabrinians and Deputy Secretary of the Human Mobility Pastoral of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference and Fr. Luiz Do Arte, CS Treasurer of the Association and Vicar of the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Callao where the Scalabrinian Congregation also exercises its Pastoral action together with the priest P. Pedro De Souza, CS

Several officials were also present, such as the Superintendent of Migrations of Peru, Mr. Eduardo Sevilla, the Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mr. José Iván Dávalos, the Executive Secretary of the Commission for Social Action of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference Mr. Humberto Ortiz, among others as well as members of the Vicars of Croatia and Korea, and citizens of different nationalities such as Bolivia, Italy, Colombia, Venezuela, religious and parishioners of Callao Parish and Community of Metropolitan area of Lima.
