Rome, March 22, 2019 – Today we want to share with you a beautiful goal achieved. This morning, the Tertio Millennio Foundation presented the Laboratorio Italia 2018 Edition Award to Casa Scalabrini 634 (a Scalabrinian Center in Rome).
This is the motivation presented by the Foundation in the words of the President, Dr. Alessandro Azzi: “For the originality with which Casa Scalabrini 634 activates refugee and migrant reception processes, in order to actively integrate them into employment and production. Making visible, through activities that also involve the Roman neighborhood in which the structure is located (Tor Pignattara ndr), an active solidarity based on mutual knowledge“.
“Through training courses and activities that we carry out also thanks to our many volunteers, such as the tailoring and the financial literacy course promoted in collaboration with the Migrants and Banks Association, we want to continue to create opportunities for meeting and integration. Accompany our beneficiaries to full autonomy. We want to dedicate this recognition to our beneficiaries, volunteers, donors and friends with whom we continue to promote the culture of encounter, acceptance, and integration every day, ” emphasized Emanuele Selleri, Executive Director of Casa Scalabrini 634.
“I am very happy to have accompanied Casa Scalabrini 634 as Tutor on this journey. It’s great that I had the opportunity to know and appreciate the method of autonomy economic accompaniment and work, as well as the personal and professional autonomy of the beneficiaries,” said Dr. Marco Marcocci, Project Tutor.
