Geneva, Switzerland – December 13, 2023 – The Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) and Scalabrinian representatives are actively engaged in the ongoing Global Refugee Forum, offering valuable insights and perspectives crucial to addressing the pressing challenges confronted by refugees worldwide.
Running from December 13 to 15 in Geneva, the Global Refugee Forum has convened a diverse assembly of stakeholders, government officials, humanitarian organizations, and experts to deliberate on innovative solutions and strategies aimed at addressing the multifaceted issues related to refugees.
Within this significant event, SIMN and the Scalabrinians are showcasing their steadfast commitment to supporting migrants and refugees globally across four pivotal sectors to fulfill the objectives outlined in the Global Compact:
- Provision of reception and protection services for refugees and asylum seekers encompassing accommodation, sustenance, healthcare, and legal advice through the Scalabrinian Network of Shelters and Centers for Refugees and Migrants;
- Facilitation of inclusion and socioeconomic integration via SIMN’s international program of « Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Social Innovation« ;
- Vigilance and presence at borders and amidst mixed flows through the Scalabrinian Network of Migration Study Centers, Shelters, and Centers for Refugees and Migrants;
- Strengthening inter-institutional collaboration with civil society organizations, government bodies, and international entities for the formulation and execution of policies and programs dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the rights of refugees and their families.
