Along with other countries such as the United States and Germany, the United Kingdom is a popular destination for asylum seekers and migrants. Since the early 1950s, the Scalabrinians have been providing services to Italian migrants in large cities. Currently, the Scalabrinians run 5 chaplaincies in Bedford, London, Woking, and Peterborough, publish a biweekly magazine, and run an Assistance Center for elders in Shenley.
