Through its Solidarity Fund for Venezuela and in partnership with Project Jade and the local pastoral community, SIMN addresses the priority educational needs of vulnerable families.
La Guaira, September 18, 2026. — As part of its humanitarian response and social reconstruction efforts, the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) launched the distribution of 2,000 school supply and uniform kits for children and youth in La Guaira State. Carried out under its Education Support pillar, this initiative aims to alleviate the socioeconomic impact on families and areas affected by natural disasters.
During the first day of outreach, organized with the logistical support of Father Francesco Bortignon and the collaboration of Mr. Hiroto Tanaka representing Project Jade, 400 school kits were directly delivered to local students. The event was also attended by diplomatic representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Venezuela, who accompanied the community distribution and witnessed the impact on the ground.
Each kit provided by SIMN includes comprehensive supplies:
- Basic school attire: 2 white T-shirts and 1 pair of athletic pants.
- Textiles: 3 pairs of socks.
- Personal hygiene kit: Bath soap, toothpaste, and a toothbrush.
