Gabriela Isler, Miss Universe 2013 and Founder and President of the Universe of Blessings Fund, and Patrick Gage, anti-trafficking advocate and member of the Carlson family which owns hotel brands like Radisson and Country Inn and Suites, have released a video announcing the creation of a fund to combat human trafficking in advance of The BIG game. On February 4, 2016, the Scalabrinian International Migration Network (SIMN) submitted written testimony to the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security of the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee on the plight of unaccompanied children and families fleeing violence in the northern triangle countries of Central America.
