Mexico City, Mexico, November 17, 2018 – On November 16, 2018, the new Scalabrinian Welcoming Center “CASA SCALABRINI” was inaugurated in Mexico City. The Center has the support of the International Organizations, business sector of Mexico City and United States, through SIMN, as well as a group of industrialists who will facilitate training and job exchange.
The new Welcoming Center in Mexico City is designed to help migrants and deportees to certify their professional skills and to insert themselves in a stable and regular job. The location has the capacity to permanently serve 80 people with lodging and more than 200 with training courses in computing, refrigeration, electricity, restauration and other skills.
“With this new Center, as Scalabrinians, we want to welcome, protect, promote and integrate migrants, refugees and deportees who want to rebuild their lives in Mexico. We would like to express our gratitude to all who are supporting our mission and our programs,” said Fr. Flor Maria Rigoni, the Director of the Casa Scalabrini.
