Bogotá, September 20, 2021 – After several months of hard work renovating the facilities of the building, the Scalabrini Training Center in Bogotá began its classes on September 20, 2021. The inauguration of the courses had the participation of directors and teachers from Los Libertadores University Foundation. This technical education center was designed to receive migrants, displaced persons, asylum seekers, and people in vulnerability.

The Scalabrini Training Center in Bogotá is located a short distance from the migrant reception center and for now, it will offer certifications in advertising design, pastries, home electrical installation, Microsoft, basic cooking, and receptionist. All courses will be certified by Los Libertadores University so that the beneficiaries can join the labor market or start their business. In addition, in all courses, students will be able to access workshops on psychology, emotion management, legal advice for immigration regularization, psychosocial care, among others.

It is a great step for this Scalabrinian center to get closer to migrants, refugees, displaced persons, or vulnerable people. It provides them with tools, capacities, and abilities so that they can start their way into labor insertion and contribute with their knowledge to the reconstruction of their life Project. This path that begins today will bear fruit in a few weeks where it is expected to have the first generation of graduates following the official inauguration of the Center.
