On Wednesday, May 20th, the launch of the Recovery Network platform in Lima, Peru, was made official through an online event.

New York, May 21, 2021 – Under a joint effort organized by Need List, this project is powered by real-time matching software designed in collaboration with partners: Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN), Presente, Dialogo Diverso, COODI, and Core Group, attended by donors, beneficiaries, members, and leaders of civil society organizations, as well as local authorities, the private sector, and donors.

Matheus Felipe Pereira, project manager of the Network, presented the initiative during the official launch and the interventions of different representatives of this multisectoral alliance. In this sense, SIMN’s Development Associate, Sharon Granados, highlighted that “the network has a high articulating potential that will allow linking and consolidating from goodwill to good practices of the various sectors.” Granados emphasized that linkage includes “to address the Venezuelan migration crisis’s challenges jointly alongside civil society organizations, international cooperation’s agencies, governments, and the private sector (from the largest corporations to migrant entrepreneurs). »

The Recovery Network is an online platform that groups together the needs of organizations that work directly with displaced people who reside in Venezuela and connects them with offers of products, services, information, training, and donations from other organizations and the private sector. Martha Albonet, the Community Participation Specialist at CORE Group, presented the opportunities from civil society in Venezuelan migration in Peru. At the same time, the Network’s Project Manager Laura Natera closed the launch by highlighting the potential to reduce connection times and mechanisms between donors and front-line project implementers. They recalled that the virtue of the platform is precise to integrate technology into efficient response mechanisms; in a world that requires more special digital tools to adapt to a post-COVID-19 era.

David Imbago Jácome, Core Group technical officer, concluded: « Today we launched @RedRecuperacion, an online platform that aggregates the needs of organizations working with migrant populations and combines them with offers from the public and private sectors. »
