Stella Maris Taipei continues its pastoral and humanitarian outreach to migrant fishers working in Taiwan’s fishing industry through regular port and dormitory visits. During a recent visit, the Stella Maris team checked in on the fishermen from the Chuan Yu No. 6, the fishing vessel that caught fire near Japan last month, offering accompaniment and support while also meeting with their recruitment agency to follow up on their situation.

The team also visited Zhengbin Port, where they spent time speaking with fishers and listening to their experiences and concerns. In addition, Stella Maris Taipei visited a dormitory housing migrant fishers from Dadap, a migrant village in Indramayu Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. Through these visits, Stella Maris continues its mission of accompanying migrant fishers with compassion, solidarity, and practical support, while fostering a sense of community and dignity among workers far from home.
