Supporting the Venezuelan Migrant Population

Bogotá, Colombia, April 12, 2019 – On April 11, the Day of Support for the Venezuelan Migrant Population in the Parish of Beato Juan Bautista Scalabrini in Bogotá was held. The purpose of this activity was to provide migrants with legal advice, training in healthy habits, social orientation and clothing.

Thanks to the collaboration of several entities, it was possible to help approximately 130 families, including men, women, and children. This event was summoned by the Centro Scalabrini de Migraciones and supported by UNHCR, Action Against Hunger and the Norwegian Council. According to figures from Migración Colombia, there are more than 143,000 Venezuelan migrants in Bogotá.
