This September 1st, 2025, on Labor Day in the United States, the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) reminds us that access to decent employment is a fundamental right and an essential pillar of life for every migrant and refugee. Throughout our history, we Scalabrinians have accompanied those who, leaving their homes behind, seek not only to survive, but also to build a future based on the effort, security, and stability that fair work offers.

In every mission, shelter, and training program, we continue to promote job training opportunities and opportunities that recognize the value and skills of each migrant. For SIMN, work is not only a source of livelihood, but an expression of dignity, inclusion, and hope. On this Labor Day, we renew our commitment to walk alongside migrants in their search for opportunities that allow them to contribute fully to our communities and to building a more just and humane society.
