This project will promote the social inclusion and integration of migrants into local communities in Italy through “active citizenship,” which implies the notion of social solidarity, the promotion of human development, and the removal of barriers of class, race, and ethnicity. Activities will include research on best practices of migrant and refugee integration in Rome, Milan, and Paris; trainings for journalists, lawyers, teachers, public administration employees, social workers, and volunteers; “Dialogues on Migration” in Rome, Milan, Bassano del Grappa, and Paris, aimed at youth; and an awareness campaign.
