The Scalabrinians arrived in Paraguay in 1974 during a massive wave of immigration from Brazil. Over the years, they implemented formation houses, parishes, and social programs in different regions of the country. Currently, the Scalabrinians run five parishes in Asuncion, Ciudad del Este, Encarnacion, Naranjal, and Santa Rosa del Monday, 2 formation houses in Asuncion and Ciudad del Este, and a Vocational and Mission Center in Ciudad del Este.
