Access to employment is an essential step in enabling migrants and refugees to build a dignified life and achieve greater independence in their host communities. With this goal in mind, the Scalabrini Mission, in collaboration with the Technical Administration Program at Faculdade Senac, supported the implementation of the “Conecta Empregos” (Connecting to Jobs) project, an initiative aimed at expanding access to employment opportunities in Florianópolis, Brazil.

Held on October 14, the event brought together migrants and refugees for a training session that included a workshop, delivered in Spanish, on preparing résumés according to Brazilian standards, as well as a presentation on employment opportunities with major companies in the Greater Florianópolis region.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about companies currently hiring in the region, explore available job openings, and submit their applications.

Through initiatives such as this, the Scalabrinian Mission reaffirms its commitment to welcoming, protecting, and integrating migrants and refugees, providing practical tools that promote self-reliance, skills development, and active participation in society.

Because accompanying migrants also means opening pathways, creating opportunities, and helping build a future grounded in dignity and hope.
